Best Movie Websites

Coming out in only a couple of weeks is the new Warner Brothers movie The Box, starring Cameron Diaz. A quick visit to the movie website brings up a trailer which presents a movie that looks very intriguing. From here you can click the Enter link to go to the site and see what else is going on. Be patient as the counter counts up to 100...yes, it has to count all the way to 100 before you get access. If you are patient enough, you'll get to the heart of the site that has some interesting features where you can explore exactly what the box is about such as a PDF Comic Book of the teleporting man, or information about HRE - Human Resource Exploitation Manual, or Remember, you will have to disable popups to see everything the site has to offer. My big complaint about the site as a whole is that it takes forever for pages to load, and although the counter comes up telling you it's loading, you have no clear idea how long it will take. The navigation on the site is also horrendous - I understand the idea is to get you to explore, but at some point you get frustrated and leave. Like I did! Overall: Good idea on the website, poor execution.

The movie website for Surrogates, starring Bruce Willis is definitely worth your time. I love the websites that take the movie seriously... at the Surrogates site you'll find a link to VSI or Virtual Self Industries which pretends like it's a real company. And this is where you'll find the best part of the website - just click on the link to the company page taken straight out of the movie called Virtual Self Industries. At the site you can create your own surrogate by uploading your picture! You then customize a few things, add a voice, and all of a sudden you have a surrogate that looks just like you that you can embed into your myspace, twitter, or webapge - very cool!! You have to try it! Before you leave, don't forget to grab one of the downloads - you pick between a movie wallpaper or AIM Icon, although unfortunately at the time of this writing there was only one of each to choose from. Hopefully more will be uploaded soon!

The website for the upcoming movie Pandorum is pretty cool. As you go from section to section, spooky background sounds and cool transitions make you feel like you're really in a spaceship and anything could happen. But that's not the real reason to visit this site - the real reason is to play the games!! I literally could not stop playing the Freight Challenger game - very addictive - you catch the freight as it makes its way up the screen. You'lll also find games called Secure the Core and Hunters vs. Humans - both fun games to while away an afternoon! If you want, there's also a link to get the game on IPhone, which is pretty cool. The downloads section has the usual - AIM icons and movie wallpapers, and the movie gallery has some pretty nice shots from the film.

Overall SMR Recommendation: Worth a visit for the games!

The movie website for Whiteout has nothing particularly special about it, though it's a nice visit. The best part of the site is the "video" section which lets you see the official trailer along with different TV Spots. The movie seems to have be very exciting as it's supposed to be Antarctica and on the screen it is very interesting to see this different snow-covered world on our own planet. They have also set up a Whiteout Facebook page Before you leave, check out the downloads available including AIM icons, movie wallpaper, and screensaver. Take your pick and enjoy!
