So what's up with the website? On the bottom right hand corner of each Cloverfield photo, there is a date stamp of 1/18/08 followed by a time stamp. You are supposed to use these photos to find clues about the movie (the movie is so top-secret that the first official Cloverfield trailer shown before the movie Transformers didn't even officially release the name, just the date 1-18-08). What are the clues that you'll find? Well, be ready to get in deep and devote hours to it like everyone else that gets to involved in the Cloverfield project, because the clues are hard to figure out! Here's one tip: the photos can be flipped over. To do this, click on the photo near the edge, hold down your click, and do a little half circle turn with your mouse to "flip" it. A couple of them have information on the back - one is all in Japanese! I know, I couldn't stand it either, so get ready for a spoiler - the translation is for a "delicious recipe" from the delicious chef...a complete recipe translation can be found here. How do you use these clues? Good question, do a search for Cloverfield blogs and you'll find lots of speculation. For example, using the back of the photos, you can find names, and you can use these names to find the myspace pages of the characters, and get more info from their myspace pages, etc., etc.
The only other feature so far of the website is that if you wait for 6 minutes, you'll hear a roar! If you don't know about it, it can really scare you. This website really deserved the lowest score - a 1 in terms of content, but I gave it an extra star for the hidden clues and extra information hidden around. Good luck and don't get addicted! (P.S. A new Cloverfield trailer is coming out today before Beowulf!)
