The movie website for Mid-August Lunch reminds me of a restaurant. And I guess that was the intent! A tablecloth laid neatly out with a fork and spoon is presented to you with the main menu down the front. The menu offers the standard fare - cast & Crew, movie trailer, and synopsis. There is also a nice press downloads section for those interested in promoting the movie. the best part of this movie website however is the "Share Your Memories" link which lets you email the webmaster memories that you'd like to share, they will then post those memories on the site!

I am not crazy about movie websites that are all spammed up, or that don't seem to focus too much on the movie. The site for Our Family Wedding is a good example of the kind of site I'm just not crazy about. On first glace it looks alot like a Facebook or Myspace page. A twitter feed is constantly updating, the facebook friends are embedded, half a dozen film news articles scroll on the right side of the page - it's all just way too busy for me. Hard to focus. I wanted to leave immediately! But I stayed. And I'm not sure why... all I was able to get out of it was to watch the trailer, and I found some links to some wedding sites. And then, out of nowhere I found a tiny link under the trailer that said "menu!" click on the link and finally you'll get to some movie-related stuff. Cast & Crew, an image gallery, and even some downloads! Why did that have to be so difficult?

The movie website for Mother is fairly simple. The type is typewriter type, which makes it seem kind of old-school, and it doesnt have too many bells and whistles. The best part of the website is probably the fact that it has a facebook fans section embedded. I know, I know, that's the best part of the site? Like I said, the website is simple! The only other thing you'll find on the site are a trailer, a cast and crew section, and a press kit link which actually has a nice selection of downloads including still images and production notes!

Movie Synopses: Mother is from the Director of The Host and is about a single mom named Hye-ja whose son Do-joon is accused of the murder of a girl. Lawyers close the case, but his mom Hye-ja put herself on a mission to find the killer.

I like the layout for the movie website of the Green Zone. You enter the site, and are confronted with a map which has links to the different features of the movie. But, although the layout is nice, it kind of falls flat by not really offering anything out of the box. Yes, there's an image gallery, the trailers, film clips, and the cast section - but all movie websites have that. The best part of the website is probably going to be the downloads section which has plenty of desktop and AIM icons to choose from....but on my visit I was just not able to download a wallpaper!! Problem with the site?

Movie Synopses: The Green Zone stars Matt Damon and is about the occupation of Baghdad in 2003. The movie focuses on Damon who stars as Chief Warrent Officer Roy Miller who searches to find weapons of mass destruction in the Iraqi Desert.

The movie website for the Secret of Kells is worth a visit, especially considering you probably have never heard of this movie! Even though the movie is not well-known, the webmasters did not skimp on the site. A visit will take you to a site that a pretty nice image gallery and trailer and information on the filmakers, the voices, and the story itself. The best part of the site however is the "Schools" link which has worksheet downloads - one for primary school and one for secondary school! The worksheets are a nice mixture of fun and education, instructing students on such things as listening to music from the movie and identifying instruments, learning what different words such as "hurling" used in the movie mean, and using the coloring pages.

Movie Synopses: The Secret of Kells is an illuminated animation about a 12 year old boy named Brendan who fights Vikings and a serpent god in order to complete the Book of Kells.

The movie website for Brooklyn's Finestt is up and ready for your visit. The best part of the movie website is the "Make Your Choice" section. When you make your choice, you choose one of the police officers, then you answer questions to see how you would handle specific scenarios. For example by choosing Sal Procida, you'll answer questions to see if ultimately you govern your conscience by family or morality. Answer 7 questions to see what kind of person you are! Another nice part of the site is the downloads section where you'll find the standard movie wallpaper, AIM Icon, in addition to a nice Twitter Background download! The rest of the site is pretty standard - read about the movie, watch a trailer, then take a look at the movie image gallery.

SMR Overall Recommendation: Yeah, visit if you have some free time and check out the Make Your Choice section! But if you're short on time, you won't miss much by missing the site.

The movie website for the upcoming movie Prophet (Un Prophete), has quite alot of features. Nothing exciting - but a surprising amount of links and information to learn about the movie. You'll find a gallery, cast, and filmmaker section, as well as a link which has the reviews the movie has received so far (they have already become a winner in film festivals and film awards, as well as being an Academy Award Nominee, and a BAFTA Award nominee). The best part of the site is the gallery, which has close to two dozen pictures from the movie. No downloads sorry, but I think most people that are visiting this movie website are more interested in watching the trailer (which you'll find here with french subtitles) and finding out what the film is about (nice synopses on the site), so I think the movie website fits right in with who the movie is targeting.

The movie website for Alice in Wonderland 3D is still in the process of being put up, and looks like once it is completely up will have alot of fun to offer. So, while the Mobile and Video Game sections are still listed as "Coming Soon" there are plenty of other things to do. The best part of the movie website right now is the Games section! Click on Games to be taken to 2 games - one called Alice in Wonderland's Hidden Secrets (a fun find-the-hidden-object game) which I cannot seem to beat, and one which is still listed as "coming soon". If you still are looking for Valentine's Day gifts, another nice feature of the site is the link for the Wonderland printable greeting cards. The link unfortunately does take you off the site :-( but not too far, and it does offer 15 templates for printable greeting cards for Valentine's Day, some of which are pretty clever, so if you're running tight on time for V-Day would probably be worth a look!

When you visit the movie website for the upcoming movie Shutter Island, the first (and only) link to visit is the "Downloads" section, where you'll find a few movie wallpapers and AIM icons to choose from. (I know, I agree, for a movie as big as this one with Leonardo DiCaprio they could have given us some other kinds of downloads, but.... well, they didn't. :-( The site looks really cool, and like there should be a whole lot on there to do, but unfortunately the downloads is the best part! The rest is just the standard about section and trailer section...not even an image gallery! Sorry! I don't get why the site's not better. I often like to visit smaller known movie websites to see what the're doing. I mean, they can have good sites too! And if it's good, I'm much more likely to see the movie! It was with this hope that I visited the movie website for District 13 Ultimatum. I had no knowledge of the movie, and was really hoping that the movie site could get me interested in it. Alas. I was wrong. The movie website is set up blog style, with a trailer at the top, and the facebook feed at the bottom. Ugh. I was feeling cold today, so when I saw the movie Frozen, I thought I just had to check out their website! I can't say that there was too much to do on the website. In fact, I can say that there was nothing to do on the website! But had I not gone, I would not have seen the movie trailer and realized this movie looks pretty cool. So, I encourage you, visit the site - watch the trailer, and then click on the Downloads section and pick between a desktop, a screensaver and a Twitter Background (which is pretty cool since this is the first movie that I've ever seen offer this)! Rest of the site is pretty standard with the cast/crew, image gallery, and about section. Don't forget to join Frozen on Twitter!
