The Beowulf website is graphically beautiful (as I’m sure the movie will be), but does not have much else. The 2007 movie website (a legend about a mighty warrior named Beowulf who destroys the demon / monster Grendel (and thus angers Grendel’s mother) and goes into battle) has lots of pictures and trailers from the movie, including a gallery with some nice pics, and a couple of trailers from the Beowulf movie. This is about as good as it gets though….and at first glance, it seems like there is going to be alot of other movie content to get you really psyched about the movie release, but alot of what they have just links you to other places. For example, there is a “Special Features” section with plenty of interesting links including Beowulf Comics, Beowulf Books, Beowulf 3D (the movie is going to be available in IMAX 3D), and Beowulf Toys…when you click on the links however you basically are just told that these Beowulf Items exist and directed to where you can buy them. There’s an intriguing link to “Restricted Content” for the Beowulf movie….once you fill in your name and birthdate though, all you get are 2 unrestricted/uncensored Beowulf Trailers….and truthfully, they’re not different enough from the standard trailer to go through the trouble of logging in (don’t waste your time!). There’s even a link to the “Beowulf Game”, and here is where I thought they’d really give me a reason to stick around the movie website for a while, a game to play! Sure, I’m ready! But once you put in your birthdate, all you get is information about when the game will be in stores, link to preorder, and a few screenshots. In summary: I was really impressed when I first saw the Beowulf website as there seems to be alot to do, and there’s plenty to look at, but sometimes looks can be deceiving, you’ll be done there after watching the trailer and downloading your Bewoulf Aim Icon and Beowulf wallpaper!
